Marina Barrage

Marina Barrage is Singapore's 15th reservoir (I didn't know we have that many!), and it is going to be located next to one of the country's integrated resorts (IRs).

I think the place will be more exciting in the future when the IR is completed and when we have more activities organised there. In the mean time, it is just an OK place to bring your family to early in the morning for a picnic on the rooftop lawn or in the evening for a stroll. There are some shelters for resting along the dam, which are great for photo-taking and of course, a snack or two.

The cafe (the only one there) we went to for breakfast was average and please DO NOT order the coffee. We didn't go for the guided tour, but I think it'd be educational for school-going children.

Yup, don't go just as yet. They blocked up access to the on-site carpark when we went. And where we parked, we had to walk past a construction site and cross a road to get to the barrage. Not easy when Kai insisted on being carried all the way there and back; he's 12kg and more!
