I want to ride my bicycle

Kai finally had a reprieve from his sickness today, and requested for a ride on his bicycle. I was surprised that he agreed to put on the helmet.

I must say he looked pretty sporty. But he didn't have a break for long. His fever came back again after we returned home. Oh well, at least he got some fresh air. He's been cooped up at home since Saturday!

My 3mo: In the hot seat

Kit's head control is rather good and he seems to enjoy sitting up. So I borrowed the Bumbo seat^ from the Chows and Kit hasn't complained.

He is also starting to reach out for items placed in front of him, so the seat is a perfect height for him to swipes at the Mickey Mouse mobile.

Plain vanilla

Children are such simple souls. Kai only wanted rainbow sprinklers with his vanilla ice cream. How about mixing in another sweet, asked his indulging parents. Gummy bears? No. Koko crunch? No. Peanuts? No. Maltesers? No, no, no. He got so exasperated with us.

So different from adults who have a hard time deciding on our ice cream flavors and then picking two, three or even more sweets to mix into our ice cream.

Children have plain vanilla flavored souls. They are timeless and always lovable.

Where is the green sheep?

This is my hat 'sheep'
"The Green Sheep", an interactive puppet show based on the book "Where is the green sheep" recently ended its run in the Jacob Ballas Children's Garden, and it is a wonderful play that's an absolute must-see if it ever comes by again.

Ian and Kai sitting in the sheep pen, waiting for the play to begin.

Kids are encouraged to run within the 'sheep pen' as different types of sheep pop up around the pen. Kai knows the book like the back of his hand, so it was a thrill for him to see the sheeps 'come to life' at the show.

The bed sheep makes his appearance.

This is my cheeky 'sheep'

After the 30-minute show, there are three interactive stations that give children an up close and personal experience with the story as well as the musical instruments used during the show. First stop for Kai was the reading station. I wasn't surprised. :-)

Christmas lights

With a view like this, it feels like Christmas all year round. But it'd still be nice to have a Christmas tree to put up for the kids to enjoy every end of the year.

Where yummy mummies hang out

Royal Copenhagen Tea Lounge has been around for more than a decade it seems. But I was told that this delightful little cafe that's tucked in a corner of Takashimaya shopping centre level 2 became forgotten over the years. Perfect for well coifed tai-tais, it's also the place for a leisurely lunch/tea for yummy mummies (i.e. me and my girlfriends).

Known for their open-face sandwiches and tea and cake sets, they now have a new menu which includes heartier mains.

Turning pro at age 3

Fuzzy image of Kai hitting a tennis ball taken with my mobile phone.

Or so I'd like to think. :-) Kai didn't do too badly. He actually managed to hit the ball with the racquet a couple of times. But mostly, he either sit on the bench while Terence and I played or he picked balls for us. Cute!

Toad the brake van

Kai and Ian at the Thomas & Friend Live on Stage show recently.

Kai is fanatical about Toad the brake van (from Thomas & Friend) now. I don't know why. Toad is not a main character and he's named after an amphibian. But these days, Kai insists on watching the episode of Thomas & Friends with Toad in it. Every time I play it, he'd insist on watching the same episode again and again and again and again and again... It's very tiring for the accompanying adult.

Here's why Toad the brake van is called Toad: According to the Wikipedia entry, his name comes from the fact that, on the Great Western Railway, brake vans were known by the telegraph code "Toad".

'Flying' seeds

It actually takes about 5-10 mins to walk to school via our 'secret path'. But with Kai, it can take up to 20 mins or more. What's entertaining him these days are the 'flying seeds'. I showed him the pod that the seeds came from and how the seeds have wings to help them fly far, far away. So he's been picking them up all along the way and watching them whirl round and round after he throws them into the drain.

It still takes 20 mins or more to walk to school. I wouldn't miss any minute of it.

My 2mo

He has funky hair that can't be smoothed down.

He smiles and says, "Ah goo."

He cries when he's frightened, but stops when he sees me.

He only wakes up once a night now to feed. THANK GOD.

He is trying to find his thumb, but ends up sucking his knuckles instead.
